YOU can help nature -- here are two ways!

Bluebirds in your backyard and invasive species removal — here are two ways you can have an impact! Tuesday, March 5, veteran Bluebirder Paula Ziebarth will show you how to place Bluebird nest boxes in your yard so they will attract Bluebirds and protect them from predators. We’ve opened this program to all ages, and it will be held March 5, 6:30 p.m. at the cozy Lodge at Deer Haven Preserve, 4183 LibertyRoad. Reserve your space by March 4. Paula also will talk about Cornell University’s bird monitoring website, NestWatch. Then, on Saturday, March 9, you can join us at Char-Mar Ridge Preserve (7741 Lewis Center Road) at 10 a.m. to be trained in invasive species removal. Once you are trained, you’ll be able to remove invasive honeysuckle, garlic mustard and other invasive species in the parks, on your own time. Register for this training by March 7. To register for either program, email register@preservationparks.com or call 740–524-8600, ext. 3.
