Summer Photo Contest: Deadline Sept. 11 |
||||||||
| The friends of Preservation Parks invite you to share your passion for photography and love of the outdoors in our Summer Photo Contest. Take your camera to one or more of our parks – Big Walnut Community Trail, Blues Creek Preserve, Char-Mar Ridge Preserve, Deer Haven Preserve (open later this summer), Emily Traphagen Preserve, Gallant Woods Preserve and Hogback Ridge Preserve – and capture the image of something you see or experience. The photo contest is open to amateur photographers of any age. Pictures must be taken from May through August. The four categories are: Landscape; People/Structures in the parks, Wildlife and Artistic Expression. Winning photos will be displayed at the McCoy Nature Center at Hogback Ridge Preserve, and any of the photos could be used in our annual calendar, on our Web site or in printed material. The photographer will receive a photo credit for photos used. Photos must be submitted as 8X10” unframed prints. We encourage entrants to also submit digital files in .jpeg format, and sized to 8X10-12 inches at 300 dpi or greater. Digital files must be put onto a disc, not e-mailed. Photos must be accompanied by the photographer’s name, address, phone number, subject category, the name of the park where the photo was taken and the date it was taken. Also, please include a description of the photo’s subject matter. If people are in the photo, please provide their written statements and signatures signifying that Preservation Parks may use their images. Entries become the property of Preservation Parks and will not be returned. Prints and discs can be mailed (postmarked no later than Sept. 11) or dropped off by noon on that date to:
