Spined Micrathena

Look for these oddly-shaped spiders with a large rear and spiny black projections as you walk through the woods this time of year. .
 

 

They build their large orb webs, with a tight spiral, "face high" across walking paths.

The spiders are harmless to humans and you could practice your limbo skills as you try to avoid destroying their webs.
 

 

 

July 1, 7-8:30 p.m. Toll-House Trio (Dixieland and Ragtime Jazz)

This band is a traditional-style, Dixieland jazz band from Columbus and the surrounding area. They play the great traditional jazz tunes of Jellyroll Morton, Bix Biederbecke, King Oliver, and many others with emphasis on tunes from the 1920s. 

July 8, 7-8:30 p.m.  Lone Raven (Celtic)

Garnering rave reviews throughout Ohio and the surrounding states, Lone Raven performs an eclectic blend of traditional music from the Celtic lands and various areas of the world, as well as their own original compositions. Leader Craig Markley lives in Troy Township.

July 15, 7-8:30 p.m.  Clear Run (Bluegrass & Folk)

This three-piece Delaware County band plays Gospel, bluegrass, big band and classic country.

July 22, 7-8:30 p.m. Moonbats (British Classic Rock)

The Moonbats
are capturing the spirit of the late 50’s and 60’s by performing the songs that changed Rock and Roll forever. You’ll hear your favorites by The Monkees, The Beatles, The Who, The Rolling Stones, The Zombies and The Yardbirds, along with a few surprises!

July 29, 7-8:30 p.m. Faux Frenchmen (Gypsy Jazz)


The Faux Frenchmen are acoustic guitarists Brian Lovely and George Cunningham, acoustic bassist Don Aren, and violinist Paul Patterson. They’ve played Hot Club-driven 1930’s gypsy jazz in and around Cincinnati and the Eastern and Midwestern U.S. since 2002.


Aug. 5, 7-8:30 p.m. Gemini (Oldies, Country, Classic Rock)

Collectively, this duo plays a dozen instruments and their music spans a wide variety of styles, from blues to country, from oldies to rock.
