Helping out your Preservation Parks...

Spined Micrathena

Look for these oddly-shaped spiders with a large rear and spiny black projections as you walk through the woods this time of year. .

They build their large orb webs, with a tight spiral, "face high" across walking paths.

The spiders are harmless to humans and you could practice your limbo skills as you try to avoid destroying their webs.

With the 10-year replacement levy recently approved by voters, Preservation Parks of Delaware County is poised to expand parks and facilities, develop more nature education programs and preserve more wildlife habitat. In addition, to get the most return on the tax revenue, we will continue to seek outside funding from grants and contributions that will allow us to do even more.

Your gift is very important to us. Whether you decide on a financial donation to assist in the development of the Amy Clark/Bader Bird Sanctuary, now under development in Deer Haven Preserve, or a donation toward a park improvement, your help is sincerely appreciated.
