Not my Nest?

Male Cowbird

The Brown-headed Cowbird is North America’s most common “brood parasite.”

A female cowbird makes no nest of her own, but instead lays her eggs in the nests of other bird species, who then raise the young cowbirds.

Big Walnut Community Trail was a gift from Walter and Kathy Sandel in 1990. Located in Sunbury, this 2/3 mile former rail bed has been converted into a gravel walking trail which extends between the Trailhouse and Big Walnut Elementary School. Funding for the trail conversion was provided by a NatureWorks grant. The Trailhouse, which was a former depot, was purchased in 2002.
Approximate walking time: 25 minutes.
