COVID-19 Updates, Closures and Cancellations

The health and safety of Preservation Parks of Delaware County staff, volunteers, guests and community is a top priority and Preservation Parks is taking appropriate action to limit the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19). Following directives from public health professionals and the governor’s office to limit public gatherings, Preservation Parks is closing several indoor public facilities and cancelling all public events and programs beginning Friday, March 13 at 6 p.m. through Tuesday, March 31. We will continue to monitor this timeline.

We recognize that people will need to get outside and we are committed to providing this public service as long as we can safely do so.

Preservation Parks’ outdoor spaces, with the exception of River Run and Gallant Farm, will remain open for visitors to enjoy open spaces while self-monitoring and practicing safe social distancing. Restrooms in our parks will be closed.

Beginning Friday, March 13, the following Preservation Parks locations will be closed to the public:
The Visitor Center at Deer Haven Park
Gallant Farm

Beginning Saturday, March 14, the following Preservation Parks locations will be closed to the public:
River Run
The McCoy Nature Center at Hogback Ridge Park
District Office at Preservation Parks (Park district employees will be working remotely.)

The following public programs are cancelled:

Woodland Wonders: Vernal Pool Edition
Trading Yarn
Star Gazing on the Spring Equinox
Railroad Fun
Delaware County Bird Club
Gallant Farm Literary and Cowpie Society
Spring Bird Walk
Bird Banding
Cover Crops
Golden Marathon Hiking Series
